Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This policy covers this website, check-forkcast.tizzy.dev. It does not cover the forkcast app itself: if you run forkcast on your own server, your data stays on that server.

Who is responsible

Tizian Adam. Postal address and e-mail are in the imprint.

No cookies

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.

Hosting: GitHub Pages

The website is served by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, GitHub logs your IP address and stores it for security purposes. GitHub may process this data in the USA; it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in delivering the website securely and reliably. Details: GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Visitor statistics: Umami

Visits are counted with Umami Cloud, a service of Umami Software, Inc. Umami records which page was opened, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type and country. It uses no cookies, does not store IP addresses and only shows aggregated, anonymous numbers. Counting only happens on check-forkcast.tizzy.dev. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in knowing how many people visit the page and where they come from. Details: Umami privacy policy.

Interest check: Tally

Nothing is sent when you tick an option. Only when you press the button does your browser open a form at Tally (Tally BV, Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 11, 9000 Ghent, Belgium) with your choice (hosted, self-hosted or both) in its address. Submitting that form records your choice; it needs no e-mail address. Tally stores form data in the EU.

On the Tally form you can optionally leave an e-mail address. It is used once, to tell you when there is something to try, and deleted afterwards. The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw at any time by e-mail; the address is then deleted. The choice itself is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in finding out which version people want. Tally's own privacy policy applies on tally.so.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). To use any of these rights, write to the e-mail address in the imprint. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
